Uno Lodge

Cerocahui Lodge

Canyon Travel directly operates, through a Mexico corporation, the most in-depth and flexible Copper Canyon travel programs featuring private lodges without the commercial distractions of mass tourism.
The Uno Lodge, a Tarahumara owned lodge, built with government funding and operated by Canyon Travel, has the most panoramic overlook of any canyon rim lodge with the only view of the meandering river one mile below.

The company, in partnership with an El Fuerte family, built the Rio Vista Lodge overlooking the Fuerte River.
Canyon Travel built lodges near Cerocahui and Batopilas in mutually beneficial partnerships with local communities.
The lodges are comfortable, environmental friendly and offer dining rooms with scenic views.  All rooms have two double beds, tiled bathrooms, and fine bed and bath linens including terry-cloth robes.

The Rio Vista Lodge is a historic property that is the reconstruction of the stables of the original fort. It is located on the highest hill in town and it is a joint project between Canyon Travel and the extended Gamez Family.

“We will always remember Chal and the Rio Vista Lodge fondly, the lodge is very unique, the hummingbirds were awesome and the food was outstanding.”

"Don't be fooled by the ugly 1 block entrance road. This place is a gem. Hard to eat with so many birds flying by. Your balcony looks into the treetop of a flowering fig with countless birds. El Fuerte was definitely birdier than Alamos, but the 16th Century colonial town of El Fuerte is "only" A cute instead of Alamos, A+. From a panoramic hilltop setting, you view the El Fuerte River, watch dozens of warblers, orioles, Magpie jays, Kiskadees, Social Flycatchers and tanagers in the fig, dodge the attack Violet-crowned and Broad-billed hummingbirds and sip a killer Margarita. Life doesn't get much better than this. The drinks are even free.
It was hard to leave."
